For centuries, marriage has been considered a necessary factor in society. One that creates a family unit to work in society while “training” the next generation – the married couples’ kids. We’ve seen multiple changes in social roles – especially in the so-called typical family unit – in the last few decades; thus, we’re seeing the social value of family change before our very eyes. Is being single psychologically better than being married?
Scotland is a rather liberal community being governed by the Party of Cameron (and perhaps soon the UKIP xenophobic movement) that has created tensions between the Isle residents. The Scottish Independence Referendum in 2014 highlighted this – that Scotland hasn’t been so approving of the English provisions for quite some time now. One major thing kept Scotland within the United Kingdom: The European Union.
Why should we be worried about Brexit? I mean, like, when has a combination of xenophobic hatred for a specific group of people, nationalistic nostalgia, and economic depression EVER resulted in anything BAD for a country in Europe? Oh wait…
J. R. R. Tolkien is remembered for his extensive world of Middle Earth; but he also witnessed Hell on Earth in the trenches of World War I. John Ronald Reuel Tolkien found himself in a bit of a predicament after the United Kingdom entered the First World War in August of 1914. His relatives were shocked when they discovered that he, as a 22 year old young and strapping man, didn’t immediately volunteer his services for the British Army.
We live in a rather destruction period of humanity. We are currently witnessing massive changes in global and regional climate patterns, and we’ve been ignoring it since the mid-20th century despite accumulating amounts of evidence and statistics that should severely shock us. We have holes ripping into the O-Zone layer, which protects us from harmful UV sun rays, right above our Arctic and Antarctic regions – causing meltdowns which lead to higher water levels and crises revolving around entire animal groups. Yet we still have climate change deniers.
We’re living in journalistic history, people. A massive, anonymous leak of financial documents from a Panamanian law firm has revealed an extensive and global network of offshore and rather illegal “shell” companies. In an era of history in which progressivism is on the rise and revolution dawns the mindsets of many different countries, we’ve just uncovered a massive scheme which allows the wealthy to hide all assets from taxes and to create laundering monopolies of billions in cash.
