The Postmodernization of Sex, Gender, and HIV

The Postmodernization of Sex and Gender by William Simon is an interesting example on how modern idealism has changed over time. Postmodernism is essentially the modern-day brain-child of Western philosophy which focuses on the “construction of truth” throughout world views, religion, and identity. When understanding the “truth”, one must be willing to accept newly furnished

The Emoji Bible: Perpetuating Bullshit

I’m not happy with this. It’s not cool, it’s not hip, it’s not worth anything. It’s some fad that’s going to take the internet by storm and stay there to remain a sociological “slang” in our culture. I guarantee we’ll start seeing emoji quotes everywhere, because of the importance of finding loopholes in character limits mixing with pure and sheer laziness.

BREAKING NEWS: Terror in Brussels

A series of explosions throughout Brussels have killed multiple people. Two blasts occurred at the city’s airport at around eight am local time, killing at least ten people and injuring thirty more. Another blast at a subway station, near the European Union offices, came shortly afterwards. All metro stations in the city have been closed, and Belgium is now under lock down.

A Push for Progressivism; Then and Now

Progressive mayors took the lead in many key urban cities – such as Cleveland, Toledo, and Los Angeles. Progressive representatives and senators quickly made their way into Congress, allowing for a more represented government to shape before the one-percent’s eyes. A Year After Charlie Hebdo

On January 7th, 2015, a mass shooting of the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo office in Paris, carried out by two Islamist gunmen who identified themselves as radical Al-Qaeda members from Yemen. These two men, brothers by the names of Saïd and Chérif Kouachi, along with a third gunman and close friend by the name of Amedy Coulibaly, were responsible for the largest terror attack in France since the June 1961 Vitry-Le-François train bombing which killed twenty-eight and injured 100+. The saddening fact is the Charlie Hebdo shootings weren’t going to be the most deadly attack on French soil in 2015.

Four new elements added to Periodic table

The world of science starts on an incredible platform this year after four new elements were added to the Periodic table. These four new elements, finally completing the table’s seventh row, are the first to be added since 2011, when elements 114 (Flerovium) and 116 (Livermorium) were added. Now that the world’s science textbooks have been instantly rendered out of date with the labeling of these four elements, the Periodic table has completed its seventh row after decades of scientific research. But what exactly are these four new elements with placeholder names, and what could their names be? After all, we’ll be seeing them in every chemistry book to be printed in the future!

Russia is Drifting Away From Western Countries

A recent poll has shown several shocking numbers since the Ukraine invasions and conflict. For the first time in six years, Russian President Vladimir Putin has figures of over eighty percent when it comes to national approval. Even more impressive when it comes to national numbers, it is the first time since 2010 that his approval rating is over seventy percent.
