Ben Carson, the retired neurosurgeon who started up his campaign on May 3rd, 2015, has finally dropped out of the race. At least, unofficially. Maybe in spirit, but not in title. Carson refused to actually say the words “suspending my campaign”, like so many members of the political clown car have stated before him. He, like he’s done his entire campaign, beaten around actual substance and created a word salad of nonintellectual psychobabble. Here’s his official statement…
In all my years in the public education system, I’ve had some terrible teachers. But you? By far the worst I’ve ever experienced. I don’t mean this in a cocky, “fuck you” kind of way. If I did, that would imply I care about what you think about me. Heads up: I don’t. I never have and I never will. The reasons should be explained within this piece.
Not only do you know absolutely nothing about American (and German) history, you’ve tended to forget your own. You grew up in a poor family, raised by a single mother and public housing. You were fed with food stamps, kept healthy with Medicaid, received your first pair of eyeglasses from state agencies, benefited from affirmative action to enter undergraduate school, used federal loans and grants from PELL to pay off your student debt… Yet you’re against all of those things. You’re against food stamps, Medicaid, state agencies, public housing, government intervention with education, federal loans and grants. How are you running as a Republican?
