John Bain, better known as TotalBiscuit, has passed away at the age of 33 after a lengthy battle with cancer. In 2014, the YouTube personality announced his diagnosis of bowel cancer. Nearly a year later, he announced that it had gone into remission. Last year, it returned and spread to his liver and spine. Chemotherapy failed and clinical trials were revoked, but John Bain still fought hard and did what he loved most. Although he recently retired from criticizing games, the gaming personality regularly published videos through the weekly Co-Optional Podcast.
Today, on May 24, 2018, it was announced through he and his wife’s Twitter accounts that he had sadly passed away. He leaves behind an amazing legacy through the foundation of gaming critique and video entertainment. He truly paved a path for many popular and groundbreaking entertainers on platforms such as Twitch and YouTube, which would not have been nearly as legitimized had it done been for his hard work and dedication as a popular content maker.
It is expected that his wife take over his projects. As John said himself: “I fully expect The Co-optional Podcast to go on and I love the thought that once I’m gone, the channels will go on in my absence, hosted by the person who knows me best and has been with me for the better part of my adult life.”
